It only takes a few hours at ROUTE International to train an individual or a team in professionalism in the workplace. This can also be followed up with on job practice if necessary.
You would have definitely enjoyed a conversation we had last week with a visiting friend of ROUTE International from Business Network International. The discussion was about how under-appreciated and under-rated Soft Skills are in our society today. The conversation dwelt around professionalism in the Ugandan workplace.
This is the discussion we would like to share with you. Have you ever visited an office, business, entity or individual and felt like there is someone that’s destroying the image and reputation of the place? Okay, let’s give it some context. Imagine you start a business that you are passionate about and hire a lady or gentleman to work in your business. Now, remember you are not always going to beon-sitee to monitor everything and yet you have not trained this lady or gentleman to work professionally.
We can begin to imagine what your business will become. When he or she is tired every customer that stops by will know. He or she will most likely be on their phone while serving the customers and may not even take the time to respect the customers. As a result, your sales will start to go down, your business accounts will dwindle and image will be tarnished.
Our question therefore is WHY should someone even think of starting a business and then employ people who are lacking in professionalism in the workplace as a fundamental soft skill? Think about it.
It only takes a few hours at ROUTE International to train an individual or a team in professionalism in the workplace. This can also be followed up with on job practice if necessary. As a result your employees’ vision will be aligned with that of your business. This is the beginning of a thriving business. Getting customers and retaining them is determined by the human resource you employ.
